HMM Architecture / Technical guide

Assess a Getapol countertop using its technical documents

For a product offered under the Getapol name, exact slab identity and installation documents matter as much as colour and appearance. A retailer's description alone is not a technical specification or warranty.

Distinguish sales copy from manufacturer documentation

Retailer pages may describe a product family as solid surface; that description alone does not verify the composition, certification or performance of a specific Getapol slab. Ask for the exact manufacturer, series, colour code, thickness and current technical datasheet in the quotation file.

If a certificate or warranty is mentioned, check its date, covered product, issuing body and validity in Turkey. Do not apply features from a document to products or series it does not identify.

Plan the sink, edge and seam details

Mark dimensions, sink type, hob cut-outs, wall returns, edge profile and seams on the kitchen or bathroom drawing. Permitted cuts, internal corner radii, supports and adhesive methods must be checked against the slab's fabrication guide.

If an integrated sink or visually continuous joint is required, specify in writing which product and fabrication method will provide it. Archive photographs do not prove that this brand or a particular joint detail was used.

Confirm care and quotation scope in writing

Follow the care instructions for the exact product offered for cleaners, hot cookware and light-scratch repair. The term solid surface does not mean every product has the same care or refinishing method.

Compare whether measurement, slabs, sink/hob cut-outs, edge work, delivery, removal, installation and extra pieces are included. State the duration and scope of local workmanship and product warranties separately.

Pre-order checklist

Before ordering, record the manufacturer or seller, exact series and colour code, slab thickness, dimensions and batch in writing. The current datasheet and care guide should identify the same product as the quotation. Review a physical sample in both daylight and the project’s artificial lighting. A catalogue image alone does not prove product identity, exact colour or a completed project reference.

Mark wall returns, sink and hob cut-outs, seams, internal corners, edge profile and overhangs on the installation drawing. Cutting, support and bonding must follow the selected slab’s fabrication guide. Check separately whether site templating, material, cut-outs, delivery, removal and installation are included in the quotation.

The order approval should record the colour/series, dimensions, installation scope and target delivery date. Document the product warranty separately from workmanship coverage, and include care instructions and an after-sales contact in the handover file.
